The Last 3600 Seconds of Wasp

2001-2004,  DV 4:3,  projected video installation,  Duration: 60 mins,  Edition: 3

It is not often that we are given the opportunity to observe a wasp’s last hour of life.  “The Last 3600 Seconds of Wasp”  focuses on a wasp writhing on its back until it dies an hour later. It is set to an emotive Philip Glass soundtrack which ultimately (melo-) dramaticises the demise of this small creature and infuses the work with a surrealist celebration of the absurd.
